Heaven Sent

It isn't hard to tell, or at least I don't think it is, that I am awe struck by my children. They're so amazingly beautiful, and bring us such happiness, there's no doubt they're Heaven sent. I could stare at them for hours on end, and inflict several "photo shoots" on them a week, pestering them with my camera, trying to capture their gorgeousness on film. For the most part they go along with me, but sometimes they're just not into it, but it seems, even when they're doing their best to make me get bored and leave them alone, they're still the prettiest, or handsomest, little things I ever saw! Tiny little masterpieces. Another thing I love about them, and about most kids, is that they don't have to be doing anything special, or posting, or even half way cooperating to take an amazing picture, somehow the amazingness (if thats even a word) of kids just seems to shine through no matter what they're up to.

A Very Old Friend

My daughter has taken a shine to my childhood teddy bear, and lately I've been finding him sprawled out across the furniture, looking very loved, and very, very old. He's so full of character, and he shows his age, but he looks so loved and so contented (if a stuffed toy can look content). I love that my very oldest friend has found a new friend in my little girl! Here he is!

The X-Files

Isn't he the cutest little thing? This is my little baby nephew Xavier and I was delighted to have the pleasure of taking his pictures the other day! Now, he wasn't exactly the most cooperative model I've worked with, he really made me work for the good shots, but he was a delight none the less! Just look at this baby! Isn't he precious? Isn't he sweet? Don't your teeth hurt just looking at him? Can't wait to take his pictures again!

This Boys Life

Today while my daughter slept, I got the chance to play with my son, and REALLY watch how he plays, it was very enlightening ;) I got down on his level, followed him around, observed from afar, and of course, brought my camera along for the fun. I got some great shots of my little guy having fun his way, just being himself, without his big sister enforcing the "rules" (mainly, don't touch ANYTHING). Here's what I got:

He's trying to put his socks on! He tried for quite sometime, then a balloon caught his eye...

My son is such a mellow little guy, following him around for an hour or so really gave me a glimpse into his personality, I love that he shines through in these pictures, you can really tell who he is here.

My portfolio needs you!

Katie Peca Photography is off to a good start, and I am admittedly pleased, BUT, my portfolio still needs some beefing up! Specifically, I really need some lovely pregnant ladies who would like some belly portraits, and some itty bitty new babies to help me round out my portfolio.

So, if you're pregnant, or have a pregnant friend, send them my way! If you've got a newborn, or know a new born, please, send them to me!!

I'm still in my portfolio building stage, so I've been offering the photo session and disc of images for $80, but in the coming months will be raising that price to better reflect the time and effort I put into it. So, if you refer a friend to me before March 1st, and it results in a paid session, then I will allow YOU to book a future session at my current price, how's that for incentive?

Thank you again for all those who have already allowed me to photograph you, or your children, look forward to working with you all again!

These three little girls are my husbands nieces, they made great models on New Years Eve, each showing of their individual personalities! I love that these pictures aren't posed or formal, just kids being kids, which is what I aspire to capture in my pictures.
