Stepping Back

Katie Peca Photography is officially on hiatus. Its been a pleasure but I need to take some time to focus on my family and myself without the pressure that comes along with preserving memories for another family.

Of course, exceptions are always made, so feel free to contact me if you've got a sweet little new born you need pictures of, those are my favorite sessions and I will more then likely be happy to oblige ;) But, if you've got family photo's in mind, or an event, then sorry, I'm on a much needed sabatical!

Take care, all the best in the New Year!

Super fun family!

I had the pleasure of working with this super fun trio of kids the other day! They were so energetic and willing, and they were well trained too! They knew exactly what was expected of them when plunked down in front of a camera and they delivered beautifully! They were so much fun to work with and I think you can see why ;)

Beautiful!

These shots were the result of an impromptu photo shoot I did today, it started as a play date but I couldn't resist! They turned out so nicely, I just had to share! Such a beautiful mother and daughter pair don't you think?

Thanks T & K!

Boy in motion!

Seems its nearly impossible to get Landon to sit still for a photo shoot these days! No matter, he's just as cute in motion as he is sitting still! I think a picture like this is just as valuable a keepsake as a posed portrait, it shows Landon's spirit and energy, it really captures the essence of a toddler boy!

Oh the Squishiness!

I'm not sure "squishiness" is a real word, in fact, I am certain its not, but it should be! Its the perfect word to describe my sweet little nephew who kindly poses for a photo shoot for me, whenever I ask him too! He's the smoothest, softest, squishiest little baby ever, I think he lets me take so many pictures of him so I'll set him down and stop petting him! (I can't help it, he's so soft!).

Anyway, here are some recent shots of him, in all his precious, squishy glory. Enjoy ;)

Sweet!

I took this precious little one's pictures when she was brand new, and now she's nearly 6 months old and getting so big (and beautiful). She really turned it out today! She was such a great little model and we got so many amazing shots! I hope he mother will bring her back soon, its so much fun to have this little princess in front of my camera!

Miss Emily!

I took this picture of my friends little girl the other day, she's so pretty and models so nicely for me (and not for her mother at all I am told, he he). I really like this picture of her, she's getting so grown up! Hope you like it too Carrie!

Little Cherub!

This is my nephew Xavier, aside from my own kids, he's my most photographed little model. I never get tired of taking his pictures either, he's ever changing, and it would seem that he's getting more and more angelic appearing with age! He's 8 months old today and he's such a little doll! He has beautiful blue eyes, dark blond hair (that is starting to curl!), porcelain skin and sweet rosy cheeks, he's gorgeous. It doesn't hurt that he's a bit of a ham for the camera too, he's taken quite well to modeling for me! Here are his most recent pictures!

I've started a little birthday present for Xavier, a photo book with all the portraits I've taken of him from birth until then, I'm excited to see the finished copy, and I think my sister and Ken will love being able to look back over the pictures and seeing how Xavier grew and changed before their very eyes. I've enjoyed the process too, its amazing how babies transform into children, as it happens it seems so subtle, and then one day you're wondering where this kid came from and where your baby went! Its bittersweet for certain!

Anyway, as always Xavier, it has been a pleasure taking your pictures, lets make a date to do it again, in say a week or two, okay?

Precious!

I took these pictures of this little princess today, she was so darn adorable and cooperative too! I think I could have taken a million more, but she was getting a bit restless, and she'd already given me so many great shots, I didn't want to push my luck!

Here are my favorites!

Hopefully I'll get this little precious in front of my camera again soon, she was a doll!

I Need a Project!

I'm getting a bit stir crazy these days, its been a while since I've done a fresh baby shoot, or a maternity shoot, and I have so many ideas I want to try out, I'm really desperate for someone to come along and let me get some of this creative energy out!

So, are you pregnant? Do you know someone who is? Please, send them my way. If you've got a new baby, or a young child, bring 'em over and lets take some pictures! I really love maternity and new baby photography, so if I can help you capture these moments in your life, I'd be happy to!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel.....

Let down your hair!

Oh my! That hair! My daughter has the most beautiful hair, I wish it were mine! She's only three years old and I'm already like some old Queen jealous of some young Princesses beauty. Don't worry, I promise I won't lock her in a tower somewhere (Mother's honor!). I think she technically has inherited my hair, that is, the way my hair was when I was three years old. It curls at the ends and has a nice hint of red to it, so I can at least be happy I helped her to have such beautiful, luxurious hair! Photographs nicely doesn't it? You can almost feel how silky soft it is right? These may not be the kind of photographs you find hanging on walls, but I think they're really cool and capture something interesting about my daughter as she is right now.
